Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive VDI Engineer to manage and optimize our virtual desktop and application delivery environment hosted in Microsoft Azure. This role will focus on designing, maintaining, and improving a scalable and secure virtualization infrastructure leveraging technologies such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Windows Server, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VDI environments (including Citrix or equivalent platforms), hands-on experience with Azure-based virtual machines, Intune/SCCM understanding and a strong understanding of Windows 10/11 image management, user profile solutions like FSLogix, and load balancing technologies (e.g., Citrix ADC / NetScaler or similar).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage a cloud-hosted VDI environment with a focus on scalability, performance, and user experience.
• Manage virtual application and desktop delivery platforms, particularly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) with Machine Creation Services (MCS) or similar provisioning technologies.
• Plan and execute version upgrades and lifecycle management of platform components, including Long-Term Service Release (LTSR) maintenance when applicable.
• Create, maintain, and optimize Windows 10/11 master images for VDI deployments, ensuring compliance with patching and security standards.
• Administer Windows Server 2019/2022 infrastructure in Azure, including GPO, DNS, Active Directory integration, and routine maintenance.
• Manage user profiles using FSLogix containers or equivalent solutions to deliver a seamless user experience.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain client devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) using enterprise tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, or similar platforms.
• Administer and configure application delivery controllers (ADCs) such as Citrix NetScaler, or comparable platforms, including:

  • Gateway and load balancing setup

  • Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)

  • Firmware upgrades and SSL certificate management

  • Ensuring high availability and security compliance
    • Provision and maintain Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), including scaling, backup policies, tagging, and cost optimization.
    • Support Azure networking configurations (e.g., NSGs, route tables) related to VDI infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
    • Operate within ITIL-aligned service management frameworks, including incident, problem, and change management using tools such as ServiceNow.

Eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience supporting Citrix, Azure, or equivalent VDI platforms in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS internals and experience managing enterprise-scale images and patching processes.
• Familiarity with cloud networking, cost control strategies, and automation tools is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Citrix CCA/CCP, Microsoft Azure Administrator, ITIL Foundation) are desirable.
